N.C.C. COMMITTEE REPORT 2017 – 2018

Enrolment Drive

N.C.C. Committee started its activities with enrolment drive in June, 2017.  Elegant charts, posters and power point presentation in the orientation  attracted the students and  32  new cadets are enrolled in First Year.

Yoga on International Yoga Day

32 NCC Cadets performed  Yoga in College on 21st June, 2017 on the occasion of  International Yoga Day.

Independence Day Celebrations

Independence Day was celebrated with usual fervor and enthusiasm on 15th August, 2017.  A platoon of  27  cadets was commanded by S.U.O. Ashish Yadav.  The National Flag was unfurled by our  Principal, Dr. Rajpal Shripat Hande, Associate NCC Officer (ANO) Lt. D. N. Kurkute, administered the Oath to the cadets.  Cultural items and adventurous activities  were presented by our cadets on Independence Day.  Prizes  were given by the Principal to our cadets.   The programme was attended by Lt. Col. Samsher Singh (Commanding Officer of 1 MAH ARMD SQN NCC Unit),  P.I. Staff, ex-cadets, students, parents and staff of our college.

Achievements :-

One of our NCC Cadet S.U.O  Ashish Yadav has been selected and attended the IMA Attachment Camp at Deharadun in June, 2017. He was the only cadet from Mumbai to attend this prestigious camp.

One of our NCC Cadet Avinash Yadav has won Gold Medal in firing and Cadet Samir Kulkarni has won Gold Medal in Judging Distance and Field Signals at Thal Sainik Camp held  at Amravati.

One of our NCC Cadet  Samir Kulkarni  has been selected and completed All India Thal Sainik Camp at Delhi and got Gold Medal at National Level. He has been selected through eight  consecutive camps to reach the National Level Camp,  which is the highest honour in TSC equivalent to RDC.  He got the training of obstacle crossing, tent pitching, map reading, judging distance, firing and health and hygiene in these camps.

Mithibai College NCC Cadet got first place in Drill Competition in Pre RDC Camp held at Nashik under the command of Cadet Krishna Dube.

One of our NCC Cadet JUO Parth Goria won Silver Medal in Anchoring and Sargent Nagendra Tiwari got Silver Medal in Quiz Competition in National Integration Camp held at Manori, West Bengal.

Social Activities

As usual every year our NCC Cadets do social activities like Tree Plantation, Blood Donation, Polio immunization, Awareness rallies, Swachcha Bharat Abhiyan  and Ganpati Emersion duties.

32 NCC Cadets performed the Yoga at International Yoga Day on 21st June, 2017 at Mithibai College premises.

10 NCC Cadets did the fire fighting moke drill on 17th July, 2017 in college premises,

12 NCC Cadets  participated in Tree Plantation on 7th July, 2017 at Vasai.

15 NC Cadets  participated in Poster Making Competition on Swachch Bharat Abhiyan on 22nd September, 2017.

 46 NCC Cadets did Shramadaan in Juhu Garden on 24th September, 2017.

 52 NCC Cadets  participated in Awareness Rally on Cleanliness on 26th September,2017.

 42 NCC Cadets participated in Seminar  and 14 NCC Cadets participated in Debate Competition on the topic “Duties of public and government on cleanliness” on 28.09.2017.

 26 NCC Cadets participated in Beach cleaning activity organized by Coast Guard on 16th September, 2017.

 Others : -

12 NCC Cadets with ANO Lt. D. N. Kurkute visited Indian Navy’s Fighting Ship INS Tarkash on 3rd October, 2017.  All the cadets sailed about 100 km in a deep sea and got an opportunity to see different types of ammunition, adventure activities, demonstration and functioning and capabilities of  INS Tarkash.

 38 NCC Cadets and with ANO participated in Seminar  on “Forum for Awareness of National Security (FANS)” organized by Indian Coast Guard and Swatantraveer Savarkar Samiti at Shivaji Park on 24th October, 2017.

 43 NCC Cadets participated in  Run for Unity organized by Government of Maharashtra on 31st October, 2017 at Worli Sea Face, Dadar where  Chief Minister of Maharashtra Mr. Devendra Phadanvis address the gathering.

 31 NCC Cadets with ANO Lt. D. N. Kurkute attended the function “TRIBUTE TO INDIAN ARMY and salute to INDIAN SOLDIERS”organized by authorized by Atharva  Foundation at NSCI dome hall, Worli on 31st January, 2018 from 6.00 p.m. 10.30 p.m.  The function was attended and addressed by Maharahstra State Chief Minister, Devednra Phadanvis, Union Minister, Nitin Gadkari, Chiefs of Army and Navy, Indian Cricketer Shri Kapil Dev and many great personalities, winners of Ashok Chakra , Paramveer Chakra, Veer Chakra, Shaurya Chakra and members of the families of the soldiers who gave their lives to the nation.  It was the great motivation to NCC Cadets.

 12 NCC attended the post RDC function at Mulla Auditorium at Navy Nagar Colaba.on 6th February, 2018.

 17 NCC Cadets appeared for ‘C’ Certificate on 17th and 18 February, 2018 at Bandodkar College, Thane.

 As usual 1MAH.ARMD.SQN.NCC UNIT’s  ‘B’ Certificate Examination is conducted in Mithibai College  on 25th February, 2018 in which 23 NCC Cadets from our College appeared for the same.
