The Computer science department of renowned Mithibai College came into existence in 1999 under the guidance of eminent scholar and research guide Dr. Mukund Sanglikar. Currently, department has B.Sc Computer Science and M.Sc Computer Science programs. At present over 200 students are pursuing their undergraduation and postgraduation degrees.
Department aims to produce excellent computer professionals through comprehensive educational programmes, promoting students with managerial skills to become competitive entrepreneurs, carrying out research in collaboration with industries and become adaptive to ever-changing technologies.
Strengths

Ensure technical proficiency by adopting efficient teaching learning process.
Provides quality of education in correlation with industrial needs.
Use of problem solving and analytical skills for sound knowledge in basic and computer science
Periodic seminars and guest lectures, quiz competitions, programming contests, technical speech competitions and poster presentations are arranged to help the students to develop competitive skills in several technical areas.

Systematic Performance improvement programs are conducted to improve examinations performance.
Demonstration of software application for guidance in project development.
A Guest Lecture by Siddharta Joshi was organized by the department on the topic reskilling - A need, which gave an insight in project development.

Students of M.Sc Part 2 presented research papers at various national and international conferences held at various colleges across Mumbai.
Several Students are placed in reputed Corporate companies like J.P.Morgan, Ernst & young, Deloitte, Cape Gemini, and Infosys etc.through campus placements.
Rajas Sode of M.sc Computer Science student presented research paper at 6th International Conference on applied Science Engineering and technology held at Pondicherry on 29th and 30th December 2018 under the guidance of Dr. Amol Joglekar.
