Established in October 2010, ImPaCCT Foundation (Improving Paediatric Cancer Care and Treatment) is the Paediatric Foundation of Tata Memorial hospital planned to ensure that every child with cancer coming to Tata Memorial Hospital, receives treatment and holistic support.
SVKM’s Mithibai College partners with Tata Memorial Centre for this cause. With its inauguration on 12th July, 2022, the Mithibai counterpart, mithibai SOLACE (Seeds of LOVE, AFFECTION, CARE and EMPATHY) has been performing varied activities with TATA Memorial hospital.
The treatment for childhood cancers is often more intensive than that for adult cancers. Also, the transition into survivorship brings its own set of challenges. Thus, the programs of mithibai SOLACE, the brain child of Shri. Amit Sheth (Hon.Secretary, SVKM & Mentor, Mithibai College) has been designed with an objective to provide psycho-social support to these paediatric kids.
Art-music-dance therapy, craft making are regular activities that are being organised by mithibai SOLACE in the hospital premises. Food and stationary items are donated at regular intervals. On 26th October 2022, the team celebrated Diwali at Tata Memorial centre distributing drawing kits to 160 paediatric kids. On 20th November 2022, a Blood Donation Drive has been organised for the hospital with a collection of 202 units of blood.
At present, we have a team of 237 students registered under this program.
The team works on the mission-
